we passed by a gentleman sitting on a bench.
"hey girls... hey girls..."
we paused a bit.
"you look like angels and my name is Charlie. Wanna be Charlie's angels?"

I moved to NYC from Minnesota for an AmeriCorps position. I get to work for a program called Start Strong--helping teens create healthy relationships and escape abusive ones-- in the Bronx. I've never lived out of the Midwest before and I've left behind my partner, family, and friends to help create social change. Where best to do it than NEW YORK CITY?!?
